Your Endodontic Journey begins here...
Your Consultation
The first phase of your treatment is a consultation with Dr Erika Vinczer. This appointment is very important, as it allows you to understand the steps involved in your root canal treatment. During this appointment we will review your records sent from your referring dentist and conduct a targeted oral health assessment.
We understand that patients who have not experienced this treatment before may feel overwhelmed or nervous prior to having their first “root canal”. For this reason, we encourage you to ask questions, and we make sure we equip you with as much knowledge as necessary to help you understand the intricacies of your treatment. Our goal is to ensure you feel relaxed and confident during your visits with us.
Your Diagnosis
An accurate diagnosis is critical to the successful outcome of your treatment. As there are other reasons which may cause painful sensations in your head and neck region (such as muscular pains and other pain syndromes), we will do all necessary tests to ensure that your symptoms are indeed related to a particular tooth. Some of the diagnostic tests conducted may include:
- Clinical examination to find out which tooth is causing pain
- Tests to reproduce your chief complaint
- Radiographic examination (x-rays)
- Any other tests necessary to diagnose the cause of your discomfort
Assessing the facts we receive from such tests enables us to make an informed diagnosis which allows us to formulate an appropriate treatment plan for you.
Your Treatment Plan
Following a complete and thorough assessment, we will develop a personalised treatment plan to address your needs. We will take the time to explain to you what is causing your concern and the solution we recommend in order to resolve it. Please feel comfortable about asking any question of your treating Endodontist.
There may be more than one treatment approach for your tooth/teeth, and we will explain the options to you so that you can make the best decision for yourself. Making a well-informed decision in relation to your dental wellness is of utmost importance to us. We understand that factors such as choice of procedures, potential risks, follow-up treatment, as well as their respective costs, are important to know prior to making your decision.
